This is our fourth annual event. We are striving to make this a platform to show off what you and your program is made of. You will be given a headset mic that will be attached to you throughout each of your sessions. One of the tasks that is expected and judged is your ability to explain your process and what you’re seeing, expecting, and doing. The mass majority of these 3.5 days will be filmed as well as on livestreams.

-Ability to communicate with crowd as they train
-Ability to settle and keep horse quiet and calm
-Use of desensitization techniques
-How well the horse is prepared and ready for each advancement
-Ability to ride with fluent forward movement
-Consistency
Riders will be docked for-
-Losing control of horse (horse yanking head away and becoming loose)
-Being thrown from mounted horse
-Allowing horse to rub against or kick round pen

You are allowed to have one assistant near by:
Assistant cannot help you haze, get forward movement, or spend any time in the round pen. Assistant is there strictly to help with time management, hand tools to you, keep track of boxes that need checked on the score sheet and MORAL SUPPORT!
You may not use a snubbing post, you may not bring a horse to start your colt horseback, you may not hobble to mount, you may not string a leg out or pull tight with a rope anywhere including flank or legs, you may not use shanked bits, you may not use a training y or martingale, we will not allow any excessive roughness (you will get one warning on that).

Applying to compete is free of charge. The four selected trainers will be charged a $500 entry free (NON REFUNDABLE)

Trainer applications will remain open through January 31st. All applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee. A shortlist of applicants will be invited to participate in a second round, which will include a brief video introduction and additional program information. The final four trainers selected from the second round will be announced March 1st.
